Some of these sites employ databases to find, sort and present contact information and/or links; most sites (like PfW) simply have pages of links. One common conundrum in both is to prevent the pages from becoming too-oversized for the average dial-up modem to resolve in a reasonable time. Additionally, some server-based technologies seem to have difficulty maintaining logical organizational schemes for grouping and sorting their content ... (or lazy humans doing incomplete coding).

Directories

All American Wineries includes physical / mailing addresses, telephone numbers and links to wineries or winery directories for all 50 states - over 1,800 in all, with locator maps, other features. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

BlueWine hundreds of wine-topical links (although the sorting scheme for the search results is a mystery)

Internet Wine Guide - a rapidly-growing portal for all sites with a wine connection.

Travel Envoy Wine Guide - very good, fast directory

vine2wine logo.vine2wine, provides annotated links, organized in categories, to over 2000 wine web sites. As the URL implies, links from the vineyards and wineries all the way through to places to buy a bottle; in between there are information resources, travel and accommodation sites, marketing groups, appreciation organizations and clubs, as well as personal pages. Newly redesigned for speed and ease of use, a great resource for wine lovers from the novice to the pro.

vinXchange (wine b2b links)

"new". Wine Directory organizes wiine-themed links by general topic and displays them in alphabetical order, although this default scheme is frequently co-opted by "premium" listings and Google Ads.

"new". Wine Guide uses server technology to assemble page content; rhyme, rhythm, or order to the results remains a mystery; interesting, but needs some refinement.

WinePortalOnline is a British site bills itself as a "warehouse of wine sites" and aims to be the "one stop reference point for the Gourmet World of Wines." They already have plenty of interesting links that are new to us!

Wine Reader began as a directory of wine links, but also contains articles, a forum, tasting notes, letters to the editor, and other features
